Sustained Investigation #5

For my 5th piece for my Sustained Investigation, I decided to do a poster because I wanted to incorporate some of the new skills I learned from my Carnival Poster Project. I first found fonts that I loved and would best represent my poster and then created layer masks. After creating the layer mask, I then found a used my paint bucket tool and made all the same colors. I then found the illustration of the cowboy and created another layer mask to take away the background. Using my different tools, I used the stamp tool and carefully went around each letter. I used this same thing with the cowboy image to get away unnecessary marks. I wanted the focal point to be the cowboy, so I placed that image on the text to draw the viewers' attention.
To keep the illustration look in my piece, I found an image of the desert, then I used an app and adjusted the image by placing different filters to create the same illustration look. At first, I would make stars in the background, but I wanted to create a more Texan look. After I airdropped it to my computer from my phone, I used photoshop tools to used different effects that best fit my poster. To make the words pop more, I added an out glow to draw the viewer's eye and not blend into the background. In the last picture, I added the image of the sun and adjusted the hue and saturation. I then placed a light outer glow to make it more visible. I believe that the poster I have created best captures my Texas theme due to its assumptions.
